Testing Your Guest App

Before you start
You'll need to have either the TestFlight version or the App Store version of your guest app downloaded on your phone.

You'll also need to have your pre-arrival and online check-in email templates set up in Marketing with a status of Published. These emails will automatically populate with the guest information from your test reservation.

1. Create a test reservation
Go into your property management system and create a test reservation. Set the arrival date to the day you want to test. Wait a few minutes for this reservation to sync to Altitude Cloud.

2. Access the reservation in Altitude Cloud
Log into Altitude Cloud and navigate to Guests > Arrivals and Departures. Click on the Arrivals tab and locate your test reservation.

3. Send a test email
Click the three dots next to the action button on your reservation and select View. Go to the Communications tab and select Send Campaign. Choose the templated email from the dropdown.

Important: Make sure your email address is already added to this reservation in your property management system before sending.

Select Send to email the template to yourself. You should receive it in your inbox within a few minutes.

4. Test check-in
Click the link in the email you received. This will connect your stay and open your guest app. You can now begin testing your check-in flow.

Once you've checked in, select different tiles across your guest app to verify your content is displaying as intended and all features are working properly.

5. Test checkout
Update your reservation in your property management system to the departure date, or wait overnight to test checkout on the actual departure day. A notification will appear on your guest app to begin checkout. Complete the checkout flow to finish testing.
