Setup Self-Service Kiosk with Controller (iOS)

Setup your new Kiosk and controller in Altitude Cloud.

Updated over 7 months ago

This setup is only required for Self-Service Kiosk configurations which contain the network-accessible Altitude Controller with Altitude iOS Kiosk app.

Automatic Controller Settings

Setting up a Controller

Within Altitude Cloud you can setup and modify Controllers

Upon modification of a controller you can click “Push to Device” or on the app run “Refresh” which will trigger the device to start talking to that new endpoint - e.g. in the event of a new internal IP address for the controller.

Connecting/Adding a Device

When adding a Device the user can set the Controller automatically, the device will then be forced to use this controller and not change it. This is helpful for remotely managed environments.

After adding the device in Altitude Cloud the device will be setup based on the Controller settings (if supplied).

When a user tries to edit the controller within the Kiosk admin, the following will be displayed:

iOS 14 Local Network Permission

Recent iOS 14 changes has created an additional Dialog permission prompt, this requires you to accept the Kiosk to connect to the local network - where an Altitude Controller is in use. Please tap "OK".

If you do not accept this you can change this setting with "Privacy" and "Local Network"

Ensure the Kiosk app has Local Network access enabled (switch is green).
