The device must be assigned to the Altitude MDM in Apple Business Manager and be assigned a Profile in Altitude MDM.
Once the device is started it will need to be connected to the wi-fi connection (when setting up multiple devices we recommend creating an open wi-fi network, the group profile configuration can contain the secured wi-fi network details for the device).
When the device is turned on it will skip the setup windows as defined in the profile.
A remote management prompt will confirm the process.
Do not click Leave Remote Management for devices added with Apple Configurator as they will not be able to be added back to Apple Business Manager.
Continue through the process for setting up the device.
If the profile has the Configuration UI setup the device will display the following screen.
Select the MDM group to connect the device to. If its a device that is inside a room then select the room from the drop down (this logs the device is in which room and also automatically configures the In-room App to that room for ease of setup).
Input the asset tag of the device (if it has one) then tap "Install Profile".
The device will then configure itself based on the selected groups profile (e.g. install apps, configure wi-fi, etc.)
