Setting Up Your Guest App

When customising your Guest App, you have full control over colours, imagery, wording, content pages, tiles, and more.

What you'll need:

  • Brand guidelines: If you don’t have any, your website will be a great source of inspiration.

  • Compendium or Property Guide

  • Marketing images: These can come from your website, marketing campaigns, or room photos.

Guest App Dashboards

Think about the information your guests need for each stage of their stay.

The Guest App has different menus (dashboards) depending on the guest’s reservation status:

  • No Reservation: Guest has a login to your app but no upcoming reservation.

  • Upcoming Reservation: Guest has a login and an upcoming booking, including pre-arrival and check-in details.

  • In-House: Guest is currently checked in.

Once the guest checks out, they will return to the No Reservation dashboard.

Guest App Menu Sections

Each menu can be divided into sections, allowing you to organise content clearly. These sections can be scrolled by your guests.

Examples of sections:

For No Reservation or Upcoming Reservation menus:

  • Stay with [Property Name]: Encourage guests to book with you.

  • Explore [Location]: Help guests plan their visit.

  • About [Property Name]: Include property details, directions, and contact information.

For In-House menus:

  • Your Stay: Details specific to the guest’s current stay.

  • What’s Happening in [Location]: Provide local event information.

  • Dine with Us: Showcase food and beverage options.

  • Become a Member: Encourage loyalty programme sign-ups.

You can customise these sections to fit your brand. For more information, see Create Sections for Your Guest App.

Creating Content for Your Guest App

The next step is to create your content. We suggest:

  • Compendium or Guide: [How to Set Up Your Compendium or Guide]

  • Pages: [How to Set Up Pages in Your Guest App]

Example pages:

  • FAQs

  • Sustainability initiatives

  • Loyalty programme details

  • About [Your Property]

Designing Your Guest App

Design tiles for each page or section of your app, using your brand guidelines or website style. You can create these in design software like Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva.

  • Dashboard tiles: 800px by 600px (PNG or JPEG)

  • Enlarged images: 600px by 400px (PNG or JPEG)

Building Your Guest App Menus

Now you can build menus for different reservation states. This is where you bring together the content you’ve created.

Suggested structure:

  • No Reservation:

    • Section: Stay with Us (Tiles: Add Stay, Find Us, About Us, Our Properties, Become a Member)

    • Section: Explore [Location] (Tile: Local Events)

  • Upcoming Stay:

    • Section: Your Stay (Tiles: Hotel Guide/Compendium, About Us, Our Services, Find Us, Chat with Us, Contact Us)

  • In-House:

    • Section: Your Stay (Tiles: Hotel Guide/Compendium, Room Service, Guest Requests, Chat with Us, Wifi, FAQs)

    • Section: Dine with Us (Tiles: Room Service, Restaurant)

    • Section: What’s Happening in [Location] (Tiles: Local Events, Google Maps)

These are just examples. You can fully customise the menus to reflect your guest experience and services available at your property.
